This Wine Bar & Bistro is the Perfect Place to Take a Break From Shopping!
Step off the sidewalk and into The Village Wine Cellar. Located directly in the center of town, this wine bar and bistro is the perfect place to take a break from shopping! The owner, Tara Shiffert, is a certified sommelier which is a trained and knowledgeable wine professional. She specializes in all aspects of wine service as well as wine and food pairing. The Village Wine Cellar has been open in Skippack for 9 years now. Tara chose to start her business in Skippack Village because she fell in love with the small-town charm, as most of us do here.
When The Village Wine Cellar first opened, it was essentially a wine themed gift shop. The shop started to evolve into something different when Tara added wine tasting to the business. Down the road, Tara added a delicious assortment of snacks to the menu and now The Village Wine Cellar is not a gift shop at all! The building that The Village Wine Cellar calls home recently underwent a complete remodel to make the space more functional. On every table you will find a menu of tapas or small plates crafted by Chef Jarad Martino. Jarod is young and has a strong passion for cooking. He is well rounded and can cater to any request, but Tara insists he puts his own little twist on every dish. The Village Wine Cellar takes pride in only featuring Pennsylvania Alcohol. Every bottle of wine comes from The Crossing Vineyards and Winery located in Bucks county. They keep the local feel with the beer they serve too, with Victory Brewing Company and Yards Brewing Company on tap. You’ll also find vodka from Faber Distilling Company, another Pennsylvania alcohol supplier, on the shelves at the bar.
Speaking of vodka, Bloody Mary Brunch is served all day on Sundays! More specials include $5 tapas every Wednesday, Girls Night Out on the second Thursday of every month. and $5 martinis on the last Thursday of every month. The Village Wine Cellar also hosts Wine Fests twice a year – one in the spring and one in the fall. Wine Fests are some of the best days to be in the village so get your tickets for October 13th and 14th here. These wine fests are held onsite (compared to others which are typically in a convention center) so, attendees have a chance to stroll Skippack Village before and after the event! The Village Wine Cellar loves holding events, big or small, and is considered by some to be the best host around town. They will host your private party whether it is a bridal shower, birthday, or anniversary. The Village Wine Cellar’s hours are Wednesday & Thursday 11am-4pm; Friday & Saturday 11am-10pm; and Sunday 10am-5pm. Stop in soon and stay updated by liking their Facebook!
